Dao de Dragon

These are my recollections from the cave as Lao Tzu and I tossed around some ideas 2000 years ago.
Our flight to the land of Immortals had been delayed by the request for a volume of sagastic wisdom.
We had such fun with rhyming, timing and editing lines.
The trick was to be vague and just leave clues, since this is a path that can't be written.
We were so full of emptiness when finished he turned in an unpolished copy of our notes and just disapeared.

Chapter 01 The Way that must be acurately said is full of words that are instantly dead. The Way that must be repeatedly read is not the Way to be fearlessly tread. Those looking to be carefully led surely follow the wrong thread. The mother of all, the matrix of infinite matter with essence and aspects flowing like batter. This mysterious cauldron of cosmic vibration is the gateway at the root of eternal creation.
Chapter 02 Consider beauty to hold value, submerge yourself in ugliness. Relish the good of goodness, and create evil as its shadow. For as light fills darkness and short limits tall, Back follows front and choice manifests all. Allow all things without ado. Do until you are through. Hold, but lay no claim. Freedom is your aim. Those things on which you dwell, Will fashion your personal hell.
Chapter 03 Fly quietly without attracting attention. Limit rivals from exploring contention. Hoard not your gems and prizes. Stopping theft before it arises. Take charge of your life. Practice limiting strife. Allow for needs, without desires. Refrain from unleashing your fire. When this is done, All is One.
Chapter 04 The Dao is like an empty cave. Its value you can never save. You can enter but it can not be filled. Space is taken by air solemnly stilled. It condenses the earth into one whole. Buried in the depths as the earth's soul. The cradel of life, a place to peacefully rest, as a grave for the brave at the end of the test.
Chapter 05 There is never a care between heaven and earth. You were naked and unaware, arriving at birth. Care and sentiment were suddenly rained down on you. Awash in smiles and tears, confused with what is true. Squeeze life until empty, as a bellows with unlimited air. Explore to the far limits for even more energy is there. There is no explaining your source of inner strength. It defines your bounderies of depth, power and length. Empty yourself from birth. Exist beyond your worth.
Chapter 06 As the spirit of flowing water, the mysterious female lives on. Nourishment for the roots of heaven and earth to feed upon. The gateway of the valley spirit is called the root of all. Nebulous as it is, follow along and find it inexhaustable.
Chapter 07 The sky is infinite. The Earth ancient. The reason for such? No thoughts of self! Be considerate with others, Selfless with your brothers, Listen to your sisters first, they all will quench your thirst.
Chapter 08 The greatest good resembles water. It benefits all without having to strive. Traveling from the highs of the sky. Seeping to the lows others pass by. Integrate your dwelling within the earth. Meditate on simplicity deep in the heart. Dealing with conflict be gentle and kind. In action do nothing extra picking the right time. Manage people justly and without control. Be honest and efficient in business and trade. As with water and the Dao do not contend. Remember and you won't loose your way.
